Foto retoucheren

Editing pictures is a hobby, but I am always a challenge to my knowledge to assess and improve. Someone asked me if I could restore an old photograph. Now this is uncharted territory for me, but I took the challenge. A few days later I received (via mail) a scan of the photo. As you can see (on the left picture) there were ugly white spots in the picture had to be removed.

I only use an open source program for photo editing (as Paint.net and Gimp) To remove white spots I have mainly used the clone tool. Now, more than four weeks later I am almost finished editing the photo and post it struck me against dirty (I am not easily satisfied with the results) Of course I make classic mistakes such as late save edited pictures. I also tried another method `s out quickly to be ready (what did not work afterwards) The use of a pen-tablet is recommended (thus enabling very precise work) The resolution of the transmitted scan speed was very low so you can see imperfections.

Those who had emailed me the picture was extremely pleased with the end result because the image was considered lost. The retouching of photos takes time and patience. There are (to my knowledge) no way to take a quick photo editing through a few mouse clicks.
